In just a few simple steps, you can gather your favorite holiday photos and display them on your TV.
Whether you gather around to watch or let it play in the background, your loved ones will laugh, cry, and share stories, making this year’s celebration one to remember!

- Add all of your old Thanksgiving photos
STEP #2: OPEN YOUR ALBUM AS A SLIDESHOW
Turn your new album into a slideshow... you can even add music if you'd like!
iPhone Directions:
- Open your Thanksgiving album
- (IOS 17 or older) Tap on any picture in the album to view it in full-screen. Click the share icon (a square with an upward arrow) in the bottom-left corner. Scroll down and select Slideshow.
- (IOS 18) Select "Movie" option at the bottom of your screen
Google Photos Directions:
- Open your Thanksgiving album
- Tap the "Play" button in the top right corner of the photo at the top of your screen
STEP #3: SCREENCAST THE SLIDESHOW TO YOUR TV
Screencasting is the process of wirelessly sharing your phone’s screen to a TV. It's pretty easy but well worth practicing so you're not stressed out with one more thing on Thanksgiving Day!
A few things to note about screencasting:
- You must have a smart TV
- Your phone and TV need to be on the same WiFi
- You will have to enter a code on your phone that will be generated and displayed from your TV
If you have an iPhone, follow these directions:
- If you have a home button (iPhone 8 or older), swipe up on your screen to display the Control Center
- If you don't have a home button (iPhone X, iPhone 11 or newer), swipe down from the top right corner of your screen to display the Control Center
- Select the AirPlay Mirroring or Screen Mirroring icon (two rectangles- one on top of the other)
- Select your TV from the list
If you have an Android, follow these directions:
- Open your phone's Quick Settings Panel by swiping down from the top of your screen
- Find the cast or a screen-mirroring icon (a rectangle with a Wi-Fi signal)
- Select your TV from the list
Keep some tissues close—walking down memory lane can be an emotional journey, full of laughter, joy and a few bittersweet tears!
All the best,
Melissa
